From 7–9 September, the Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design, Assumption University (AR+D), joined forces with the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) for the 5th edition of their joint international design workshop.
Under the theme “Threshold,” 55 students in 8 groups, guided by 8 advisors, explored the everyday “in-between” moment at the university’s tram stop — a space where people of many nationalities, languages, and cultures briefly converge. Drawing on ideas of internationality, diversity, and transition, students translated these concepts into a conceptual tram station pavilion through tectonic and poetic design thinking.
Over three intensive days, students conducted site analysis, brainstormed and developed their designs, and wrapped up with a final presentation and model exhibition — another rich chapter of cross-cultural exchange and creative collaboration between AR+D and VGU.
